Planning Studies
We prepare planning studies on a wide range of projects from small-scale residential projects to studies for institutions such as hospitals and health care centres, colleges and universities, community waterfronts and parks and recreation facilities.

Such studies illustrate alternative options for development or re-development of a property, traffic and pedestrian movement patterns, open space, parking and infrastructure. In the process we identify the critical factors for decision-making, options for development, order of magnitude costs, and strategies for implementation.

Condition Surveys
We can provide an assessment of building conditions, including forensic investigations, condition surveys, recommendations, and budgets for both maintenance and repair

Feasibility Studies
We prepare feasibility studies which illustrate a project and document its justification or need. In the process we provide demographic information, user surveys, develop design options, forecast capital cost and operating costs and assess economic impact. We also prepare illustrations showing deign concepts.

Special Studies
Osburn Associates can provide special studies and assistance at any stage of the development of a building project in relation to planning, historical and cultural studies, security, remedial action, time planning and implementation.

3D Visualization and Rendering
We prepare three-dimensional visualizations of projects to demonstrate their impact and illustrate alternatives. These can be in the form of still pictures or moving picture (video) animations. They are particularly useful for public meetings and presentations. When fully rendered, a realistic 3D presentation can make an excellent visualization and planning tool.

CPTED Evaluation, Assessment and Recommendation
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, CPTED, is based on the premise that  proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the fear of crime and incidence of crime, and to an improvement in quality of life.

There are four overlapping CPTED design strategies that can be applied to any structure or environment:  Natural Access, Natural Surveillance, Territorial Reinforcement and Target Hardening.

Osburn Associates can provide evaluations and assessments of  existing or proposed projects using tried and proven CPTED principles.  We are certified CPTED consultants.
